During Maureen's research, she discovered that there were few people who knew that there were people of colour from the Caribbean who answered the call of Britain to participate in WW2, so Maureen travelled across the UK and the West Indies to document their stories and experiences.

 

What she found was a long history of people who risked their lives for Britain.

Their only thought was that Britain needed them.
